Bury Hill Organic Soil Conditioner is a premium, peat-free soil improver made from carefully composted natural organic materials. Certified to BSI PAS100:2018, it is finely screened to 10mm, producing a dark, friable compost that is easy to incorporate into the soil and rich in organic matter, nutrients and minerals.

Containing higher levels of organic matter than horse manure or mushroom compost, this versatile soil conditioner improves soil structure, increases water retention and enhances nutrient availability. Its alkaline pH makes it particularly effective for improving heavy clay soils, sandy loams and other poor-quality soils, creating healthier growing conditions for plants.

For best results, apply a 50mm layer and dig or rotavate it into the soil. On nutrient-deficient or heavily depleted soils, an application of 75–100mm may provide additional benefits.

Please note: This product is designed as a soil improver and should always be mixed with existing soil before planting. Due to its rich nutrient content, it is not suitable as a standalone growing medium for seeds, seedlings or potting. For these applications, we recommend our Multi-Purpose Compost or John Innes Composts.

Bury Hill Organic Soil Conditioner is produced from composted green waste and sourced from trusted suppliers who regularly test the material to BSI PAS100:2018. As a naturally composted product, its nutrient composition may vary slightly between batches. Although the composting process reaches temperatures that destroy the vast majority of weed seeds, occasional traces of plastic may remain as an unavoidable by-product of the green waste recycling process.
