The Hayauchi 6300's oval-shaped aluminium alloy extension poles are a defining feature — the oval cross-section provides directional control over the blade that round poles cannot match, particularly important when cutting at height where precise blade placement is critical. The oval profile also adds rigidity and minimises pole flex under load, ensuring that effort applied at the handle translates efficiently to the blade even at full extension. A rubber overgrip on the base pole and a pole-end shock absorber provide comfort and control during sustained use.

The 390mm curved blade uses Silky's 4-RETSUME technology, in which teeth are set to create the effect of four rows, producing an aggressive, fast-cutting action well suited to hardwood and tough pruning work. At 5.5 teeth per inch the blade balances cutting speed with control across a range of branch sizes. Two blade angle settings allow adjustment for lower or higher cutting positions without repositioning the operator.

Two sickle features are integrated into the blade design: the lower sickle undercuts bark cleanly before the main cut, preventing tearing and producing a healthier wound on the tree, while the upper sickle prevents the blade from slipping off rounded branch surfaces — improving safety and accuracy when positioning the saw at height.

Pole extension is secured by a dual locking system combining spring-loaded locking pins as the primary mechanism and friction clamps as the secondary, working together to ensure the fully extended pole remains completely rigid. This system ensures 100% of the force applied at the handle reaches the blade regardless of extension length. A rigid black plastic blade cover is included for safe transport and storage.
