Stihl 4140-012-2353 FS38 Petrol Brushcutter

The FS 38 is an entry-level petrol trimmer built for straightforward garden maintenance tasks — trimming lawn edges, clearing around obstacles, and keeping paths and steps tidy. Despite being the lightest model in the STIHL petrol range, it handles the everyday demands of a domestic garden with ease.

The loop handle design gives excellent freedom of movement when working in confined areas such as between shrubs, around garden furniture, or along narrow borders, allowing the cutting head to be guided precisely without restriction. All key controls are integrated into a single multi-function handle, making operation intuitive for both right- and left-handed users.

Starting is made easier by the manual fuel pump, which primes the fuel system before the first pull — particularly useful after the trimmer has been stored for a period. This reduces the number of starting strokes needed and gets the tool running more quickly.

The FS 38 is supplied with an AutoCut C 6-2 mowing head, which allows new line to be attached simply and quickly. It is also compatible with a PolyCut head for tackling coarser vegetation and larger weeds.

Please note: Before use, always check the work area for wildlife. In particular, check for nesting birds before trimming hedges, and for small animals such as hedgehogs before cutting long grass.
