If you are carrying out a building or landscaping project, you will need ballast, a mix of sharp sand and 20mm down crushed aggregate. Ballast is the type of sand that can be used for various applications when mixed with cement such as for using with fence posts, making concrete paths and can be used to make bases for under a garden buildings (sheds), concrete floor in extensions or even foundations for a building.
