Oak Sleepers are very strong and very durable and have numerous uses in the garden and around the home.

Please note that all our sleepers are sourced from within Europe and the UK.  These visually stunning cuts of timber are versatile as well as practical and hardwearing.

These new oak sleepers are not seasoned and are easier to work with but can have split ends which is a natural characteristic of oak but are of excellent quality as you would expect from a new railway sleeper, however they usually have two or three square edges as the other edges can have chamfers where the outer sapwood has been removed. Shakes and blemishes are also characteristics of green oak sleepers but their natural appearance fits in the garden whether used as retaining walls, next to Natural stone paving, as steps, as a style of Decking, raised vegetable beds as an edging for a lawn or edging slate chippings and decorative aggregate areas.

The oak is fresh sawn and the colour is golden once cut, but after several months of external seasoning the colour matures to a silver grey giving it the appearance of having been there for years. These new oak sleepers are ideal for all types of landscaping projects including raised vegetable beds, Decking, retaining walls, edgings and steps and are an economical way to purchase oak. We have even sold them for the use of beams or as a mantle piece and given their durability and style will bring a natural feel whether inside or as part of your outside living area.

Our new untreated oak Railway sleepers are an ideal clean alternative to reclaimed Railway sleepers that are often impregnated with creosote that can leak tar and oil. reclaimed sleepers also have certain legal restrictions on where they are used where as the new oak sleepers uses are limitless.
